A nationally recognized electrical and technology systems contractor is seeking a BIM Modeler to support virtual design and construction (VDC) initiatives across commercial and industrial building projects. This role is based just outside Houston and supports multi-million dollar projects by translating construction data into actionable 2D and 3D models that guide the build process. Focus :

Develop and revise detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings that reflect field requirements and project standards.

Generate accurate fabrication and installation models used by field teams across commercial and mission-critical projects.

Collaborate with project engineers, field supervisors, and VDC coordinators to ensure modeling reflects real-world constructability.

Assist with the implementation of best practices for drawing, modeling, and detailing efficiency.

Monitor task progress and provide timely updates to project leads on deliverable status.

Identify and communicate potential design or installation conflicts between trades during coordination efforts.

Read and interpret blueprint documents and manufacturer submittals to inform layout and equipment sizing during modeling.

Complete redlines and record models to reflect as-built conditions for project closeout.

Work on a variety of project types, including healthcare facilities, large-scale commercial sites, industrial campuses, and data centers.

Skill Set :

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software or relevant field exposure in commercial electrical systems.

Ability to read and understand construction documents and architectural drawings.

Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to identify and suggest improvements for field constructability and modular opportunities.
