Lead Accounting Advisory And Policy Director

Marsh is seeking a Lead Accounting Advisory and Policy Director to join our high-performing Controllership Team. This is a hybrid role with three days per week required in our NYC office. Help establish accounting policy group to engage with accounting advocacy with regulators. Be our subject matter expert on accounting and reporting issues, specifically revenue recognition. Partner and assist the business and functional groups on deals and contracts. Work in a fast-paced environment in a company with strong values. We will count on you to : lead and establish the group to engage with regulators (the SEC and the FASB) and trade groups to ensure Marsh McLennan's views are represented; develop policies and procedures to ensure dissemination and consistency of accounting policy globally including updating financial reporting and accounting policy content; conduct research and document conclusions on specific accounting matters that arise within the Global Controller network; partner with the business and functional teams to assist in providing accounting guidance during deal structuring and contract negotiations; act as a subject matter expert on accounting and reporting issues and respond to inquiries by Global & Regional Controllers, Operating Company Financial management and Business Leaders; review financial statements and provide guidance on disclosure; lead and coordinate completion of special projects (ESG, global GAAP and IFRS policies); advise management of any new guidance released from the SEC, FINRA, IASB and FASB, which will have implications on the organization; ensure implementation plans for new accounting standards, appropriately considers the Company's ongoing Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements; and manage staff in matrix environment and ensure integration and quality of team members' work including both written, verbal, and presentation to the organization.

What you need to have : Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, 10 years or more of technical accounting experience, certified public accountant, experience with revenue, consolidation and business combination accounting and experience with comment letters and accounting advocacy activities.

Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $138,100 to $276,200. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
