SUMMARY

This position is responsible for responding to the needs of students, the general public, and staff by providing general information concerning federal, state, and institutional aid programs.He / she will provide specific information to prospective and returning students regarding their aid application and will evaluate and distribute financial aid applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

1.Responsible for overseeing the outer office area to include student workers.

2.Enter student employment information into the payroll system and work with the Employment Services Office on student payroll issues.

3.Hires, trains, and supervises student workers to assist with data entry, document tracking, the creation and maintenance of financial aid files, and the generation and mailing of award notices and other communications to students

4.Provides general information to prospective and returning students regarding the financial aid application process and federal, state, and institutional guidelines

5.Responsible for receiving financial aid forms, evaluating them for completeness, entering the date into the financial aid management system, and routing the forms to the counselor or director as appropriate.

6.Responsible for retrieving, opening, processing, date entering, and routing incoming mail

7.Responsible for sending outgoing mail

8.Generates letters to students concerning documents needed for the financial aid process

9.Responsible for maintaining office calendars and scheduling appointments for counselors and the director

10.Responsible for monitoring and ordering office supplies

11.Assist the Financial Aid Counselors during peak periods of the day, month, etc. to help greet students, answer the phones, and provide specific information concerning application regulations and procedures.

12.Work independently to complete tasks on a schedule developed by the Financial Aid Director while following federal guidelines.

13.Input all tuition and room waiver awards

14.Verify required GPA’s, hours completed for the various tuition and room waiver programs

15.Responsible for working with IT and the Assessment office to complete surveys

16.Balance monthly with the Business Office on Title IV accounts

17.All other duties assigned
