Job Summary :
The Machinery Specialist is part of the reliability organization supporting maintenance (including TA) and operations in troubleshooting rotating equipment and provide quality assurance to machinery repairs at the Houston Operations Facility. We are seeking candidates who will strive to improve reliability of rotating systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment.
Job Roles and Responsibilities :
- Conduct trouble shooting and equipment rounds to prevent infantile failures.
- Provide technical input on the necessary spare parts required for new / modified equipment installations and / or BOM changes / creation.
- Participate in management of change processes
- Update and maintain equipment files
- Update / Create / Deactivate PMs in CMMS
- Conduct root cause investigations of rotating equipment failures as assigned communicating findings and recommendations
- Provides technical expertise and sustaining procedures to plant personnel (crafts, operators, etc.) on troubleshooting failures, proper operation, and repairs.
- Conducts outside shop surveillance (Houston Area) on rotating equipment repairs
- Provide quality feedback on TPC millwright repairs.
- Develops maintenance procedures in support of the equipment reliability strategies.
- Serves as a technical resource to the planner on work packages.
- Provide input to reliability engineers on bad actors
- Communicate between operations and maintenance.
- Work with training personal to provide input on craft training and basic operator training on machinery
- Support PdM Lead in evaluating Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) activities and determines appropriate action.
- Support TAR / Capital Project activities involving rotating machinery with scope input and technical execution.
Required Qualifications :
Associates Degree in Machinist / Millwright AND 5 years’ experience OR a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the maintenance of petrochemical / refining rotating equipmentKnowledge of machinery / rotating equipment used in refining and petrochemical production including compressors, pumps, steam turbines, electric motors, gear boxes, etcHigh School Diploma or equivalent (required)Basic computer skillsGood communication skills, written and verbalPreferred Qualifications :
Vibration analysis Level 2 CertificationKnowledge of Bently / System 1 / AMS Machinery HealthLubrication certificationFamiliarity with machinery auxiliary systems, including lube oil, seal oil, hydraulics, and oil analysisAbility to complete equipment performance testing to predicted curvesDemonstrated machinery technical or maintenance leadership experience.All applicants must be eligible to work for any employer in the US continually without any company sponsorship.
