Position Requirements Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Preferred : PALS Experience : Minimum 2 years of ER experience Previous Med-Surg experience required Facility & Unit Details Trauma Level : IV Designations : STEMI Receiving & Stroke Center Beds / Trauma Bays : 4 beds, 2 trauma bays Fast Track : No Triage : No separate triage area; travelers not required to perform triage ER Holds : Intermixed within ER Psych / Seclusion Rooms : Yes Security : Not housed in ER, not 24 / 7 in-unit Average ER Census : ~10 patients per day Staffing & Support Physician Coverage : ED physician on duty at all times Charge Nurse : Present each shift; takes patient assignments Support Staff : Nurse aides / EMT / Paramedics / Patient sitters on-call RT : Not present 24 / 7; RNs handle respiratory care & equipment troubleshooting Tele / Monitor Techs : None – RNs read their own strips Telemetry System : Mindray Radiology / Lab : X-ray and CT available; lab staff performs phlebotomy Shift & Scheduling Shift Times : Days : 07 : 00 – 19 : 00 Nights : 19 : 00 – 07 : 00 Schedule Type : Rotating Day / Night; block scheduling may be considered Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (EOW) Holiday Requirement : Required if it falls within scheduled block On-Call : None Float Requirements : May float to Med-Surg and Swing Bed (same unit) Orientation : 1 full 12-hour shift Additional Details Scrub Color : Navy Blue Radius Rule : Must live at least 50 miles from facility Employment Restriction : Candidates cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year RTO Policy : All requested time off must be provided upfront; no additional RTO will be approved after submission
