Steak N Shake Hiring Manager
Steak N Shake is hiring managers looking to make a difference! We have exciting times ahead! We are looking to expand our leadership team at our Government store and looking for the right individual to join us as we set goals and break records in 2026.
This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations during specific shifts, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and handling administrative tasks like scheduling, inventory, and cash management. Key duties involve supervising and training employees, resolving customer complaints, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring operational efficiency to meet company goals. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities :
- Staff and operations management :
- Supervise and coordinate staff activities to ensure smooth operations while maintaining operational goals and KPI targets in the areas of YOY sales growth, COGS and labor management, guest satisfaction, drive-thru times, GOLD Standard audits, operational processes and regular maintenance.
- Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to the team.
- Monitor employee performance and enforce company policies.
- Customer service :
- Ensure high-quality customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and conflicts effectively.
- Inventory and stock management :
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock is available.
- Manage stock discrepancies, food waste, and product rotation.
- Oversee receiving of products and supplies.
- Financial and administrative tasks :
- Manage cash handling, reconcile the cash register, and process transactions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Communicate with upper management about shift performance and issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with point-of-sale (POS) systems or other tech.
Required skills and qualifications :
Open availabilityReliable transportationMust be able to work an 8-10 hour shift and lift up to 40 pounds.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.Experience in a supervisory role, preferably within the food service industry.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. ServSafe will be required within the first 30 days.Problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills.Benefits :
This position may be hourly or salary depending upon the candidate.Salaried managers qualify for vacation / PTO.Work week will be between 40-50 hours per week.Training period will be between 3-6 weeks.
