Job Summary :
A Respiratory Technician coordinates with the patient care team to provide the highest quality patient care and advocacy. A Respiratory Tech provides equipment set-up, and instruction and maintenance, and travels by car to hospitals and patient homes to deliver, check, or pick up equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Duties & Responsibilities :
Assists referral source in planning and implementing patient carePerforms initial patient evaluation and on-going patient assessmentsReads and evaluates physicians' orders and patient chart information to determine patient's condition and treatment protocolsMaintains thorough and appropriate documentation in patient medical record of all visits and procedures performed, as well as telephone contacts with the patient, caregiver, physician, and other members of the health care teamInstructs patient and / or caregiver in equipment usage and the organization's respiratory servicesPerforms follow up procedures to determine efficacy of patient compliance while on therapyCleans, sterilizes, checks, and maintains all equipment and accessoriesInventories and orders equipment and supplies per company protocolsTravels by car to hospitals, and / or patient homes to provide servicesAssists in resolving patient equipment problemsProvides clear and compassionate communication with the complete patient care teamFollows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports / removes unsafe equipment, and attends safety education sessionsPerforms on-call on a rotating basis, as neededPerforms other duties as requiredRequirements :

High school diploma or equivalentPrevious healthcare experienceHM E / DME experience preferredQualifications Physical :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer componentsMust be able to lift up to 55 pounds at timesMust be clean and neat in personal appearance
