About the team and position
As an Analyst on one of our dynamic strategy teams, you'll dive into a role where data shapes the future of car buying. Our teams use cutting-edge analytics and strategic insights to help us more efficiently make improvements to our customer experience. For example, your work might focus on recommendations for how we allocate our marketing budget, uncovering patterns to enhance our fraud detection models, determining the prices we bid on vehicles at auctions, or assessing the impact of product enhancements on our website or mobile app.
You'll work with vast data sets from diverse sources, turning them into actionable strategies that drive (get it?) our business forward. Whether it's optimizing operations, enhancing customer experiences, or exploring new market opportunities, you’ll get to use your analytical skills to make business decisions and will be given the autonomy to share your insights.
What you’ll be doing
- Translating data into consumable, actionable narratives; regularly consulting with stakeholders including senior leadership, sharing results and strategic recommendations.
- Working closely with Product, Engineering, Strategic Partnerships, and Operations to assess performance and identify and prioritize opportunities.
- Exploring and segmenting data to identify and explain key drivers; design and build models, dashboards, and visualizations to support Product teams.
- Designing split tests, interpreting results, and communicating the broader implications.
- Taking ownership of the product track, enabling and empowering the constantly evolving customer experience that makes us leaders in our field.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you should have
Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Computational Math, Econometrics, Engineering, or similar field with a strong academic record; graduate degree preferred.1-3+ years of experience in analytics or quantitative practices working in data warehouse environments.Comfort navigating and manipulating large data sets to identify trends and underlying drivers.Familiarity with Python (or R) preferred.Strong experience in SQL.Experience in one or more of these areas :A / B testing or experimentationBusiness strategy or consultingStatistical analysis using methods like regression.Ability to thrive (and preference to work) in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequently changing goals and deadlines.Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in solving problems, particularly using data to help answer somewhat nebulous questions (e.g., how consumers make purchasing decisions).Excellence in implementation, including attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Enthusiasm and positive energy to contribute to and thrive in a rapidly growing start-up atmosphere where roles continually adapt as the company evolves.Prior experience in Tableau or another visualization tool is a plus.What we’ll offer in return
