TalentFish is casting a line for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer! This is a Direct Hire role in DC
OR NYC.
This position's purpose is to lead the development of test approaches, estimates, and plans for complex
integrated systems and ensure that execution aligns with business needs in collaboration with cross-functional
teams.
What You Bring to the Role
- 3+ years of QA automation experience supporting large, critical business applications
- 5+ years of QA experience with test and issue management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with manual and automated testing procedures and tools
- Experience in both Agile and Waterfall development environments
- Strong experience with QA test management tools
- Knowledge of web application architecture (web server, client / server communication, databases, proxy, etc.)
- Experience automating desktop / client applications (preferred)
- Skilled in SQL queries involving multiple tables, join statements, and stored procedures
- Familiarity with source code management tools
- Experience with JSON, HTML, CSS, and API testing methods (POST, PUT, GET, DELETE)
- Understanding of OOP concepts and BDD methods
- Experience with Selenium and Page Object Model for automated scripts
- Programming or scripting experience in C# or Java
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Highly effective in collaborative team environments
What You'll Do
Confirm high standards of software system performance and operational coherenceProvide input on functional requirements, and advise on design and configuration of applicationsEnsure delivery of testable and traceable requirements using appropriate black box testing techniquesLead user story and test case development and executionDesign, develop, document, and maintain test artifacts for functional, integration, system, and acceptance testingCreate test plans including risk mitigation strategiesPrepare and manage test data and environments for executionCreate and execute automated tests and generate status reportsAnalyze test results to identify defects and configuration issuesPerform defect triage and collaborate with development teams on issue resolutionPublish and communicate test metrics that support decision-making on qualityMake recommendations on delivery quality and influence implementation decisionsCoordinate with on-site, off-site, and off-shore teamsCompensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is 100,000-125,000 per year, depending on experience and
qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid
