Position Summary :

The Part time Digital Media Arts – Support / Student provides direct support to students and faculty during Digital Media Arts classes and / or outside of the classroom in Digital Media Arts labs / centers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Proactively assist students with equipment, software, hardware, etc.
  • Participate in the up-keep and maintenance of lab / center areas and equipment.
  • Assist with equipment loans and inventory maintenance.
  • Report software, hardware, or equipment issues / concerns.
  • Replenish classroom and lab / center supplies as necessary.
  • Enforce classroom and lab / center policies.
  • Support faculty as needed.
  • Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Hours / Schedule :

    This is a part time position that will work less than 20 hours per week—schedules can vary. Continuation of employment is reviewed at the end of each semester.

    Minimum Qualifications : Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of and experience with specific software, programs and equipment utilized within the classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse students of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and work enthusiastically with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of lab / center policies.
  • Strong public service commitment and positive attitude.

    • If candidates do not meet the minimum qualifications for student employment then they will be classified as Support Staff.

    Additional Minimum Qualifications for Student Employment

  • Must be currently enrolled Washtenaw Community College student pursuing a certificate or degree within the assigned area. Must have a grade “B” or better in related coursework.
