About The Position

Experience : Minimum 3 years of ICU experience, with preference for NICU experience

License : Must have an AZ Respiratory Therapist license

Certifications : BLS, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC

Must-Have :

• Must have AZ RT license in hand
• Must be able to assist with bronchoscopy procedures
• Must be proficient with at least one of the following : Servo I, Jets, Oscillators
• Must have 2 years of strong ICU experience

Description :

Candidates are expected to perform 35-40 procedures (RVUs) per day.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required, as an AZ license will not be granted without RRT certification.

The position requires strong ICU experience for adults, while NICU experience is preferred for those working with both adults and NICU patients.

Additional requirements include BLS, RRT, NRP, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Preferred certification includes ACLS.

Experience with the Cerner charting system is needed.

Unit orientation consists of 2 days on a regular floor, followed by skills validation.

Shifts include 6 : 00 AM to 6 : 30 PM and 6 : 00 PM to 6 : 30 AM for 3 days each week.

Assigned responsibilities will be within certain areas each day, without floating to outpatient areas.

A lead on duty will be present for every shift.

Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend or 4 shifts each month, and participation in holiday rotations is also expected.

The attire for this position is black scrubs.

Responsibilities include running all vents, BiPAP, V60, and CPAP, as well as responding to Clinical Response Team calls with the lead therapist.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will also be responsible for drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs).

Candidates must be team players with very high acuity experience, as well as strong time management and communication skills.
