SCOPE of POSITION : This position requires a high degree of technical and practical knowledge related to the industrial polymer industry and experience in the plastic industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of polymer formulations, compounding processes, and the functional benefits of compatibilizers and additives across a wide range of applications
POSITION SUMMARY
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive growth of additives and coupling agents in wood plastics composites (WPC), plastics compounding and recycling markets.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with compounders, OEMs, recyclers, and formulators.
- Develop product requirements and roadmaps for growing existing plastics accounts.
- Stay ahead on trends in sustainability and recycling, helping new and existing customers optimize formulations with higher recycled content and renewable fillers, all while maintaining performance and processing efficiency.
- Incorporate feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy and finding ways to expand product market reach into automotive, packaging, industrial compounding and other adjacent markets.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.Develop positive relationships with clients, and act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs.Provide technical consultation to support product development.Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.Supervise independent account representatives to ensure sales increase.Report on the status of accounts and transactions.Monitor sales (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision.Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products.Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps.Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.Other duties as assigned.WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in a Sales, Product Management, or Technical position with strong customer contact involvement.QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as a Product Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role.Strong knowledge of maleic anhydride modified polyolefins, coupling agents, compatibilizers, and additive systemsExperience in the WPC, recycled plastics or compounding required. .Extensive experience with business travel and face-to-face selling.Organizational and leadership abilities.Excellent communication skills, problem-solving aptitude, creative thinking skills.Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.BS / BA in Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
