About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Aide to join our dietary team. The Dietary Aide supports kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, serving, cleaning, and maintaining a sanitary work environment. This role is essential to ensuring our residents receive nutritious, well-prepared meals in a clean and welcoming environment.
You'll work under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and play a key role in supporting the daily food service routine.
Responsibilities
- Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Strip down returned trays and operate the dishwasher
- Check and record dishwasher water temperature and chlorine concentration at the beginning of each shift
- Prepare snacks and nourishments as needed
- Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors
- Carry out trash and maintain a clean, organized kitchen
- Store groceries safely and neatly
- Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas
- Assist the cook or dietary supervisor when needed
- Participate in ongoing training and orientation for dietary staff
- Maintain positive communication and teamwork with all departments
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to read and follow recipes and technical proceduresStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentBasic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios)Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certificate (can be obtained after hire)Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periodsFrequent pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lbs)Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouchingMust have good hearing, vision, and manual dexterityComfortable working around food, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipmentWork Environment
