The on-site Engine Life Management Team (ELMT) at Columbus Engine Center has an opening for a Design Engineer supporting the maturation of the geared turbofan (GTF) fleet. The role of this position is to function as an onsite extension of the cognizant Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT(s)) supporting Repair / Limits Design and engine investigation. The role will support various CIPTs responsible for various GTF hardware at Columbus Engine Center (CEC) in Columbus, GA. This position is a key role within the CIPT as it provides a direct engineering link to the commercial aftermarket.

What You Will Do

  • This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, aftermarket suppliers and DATs.
  • Design support of Limits and Repair tasks.
  • Onsite representation of the CIPT supporting engine / hardware investigations and dispositions.
  • Coordinate and lead resources to meet technical, development and production requirements
  • Monitor and trend hardware health for limit updates, product improvement, and repair task activities.
  • Liaise between engine shops, Customer Technical Services (CTS), Engine Services, etc., regarding investigation scope and implementation. Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management.
  • Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.
  • Coordinate evaluation of customer inquiries and operational hardware non-conformances.
  • 10% travel required.

What You Will Learn

  • This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
  • Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

  • Selected candidate will be automatically enrolled in the P&W Engineering Development Program (Rotational Program within P&W).

  • The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
