Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with prior travel and large teaching hospital experience, VT or compact license, and recent Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
Work as a Resource Float RN in the ICU / IMCU units of a large teaching hospitalCare for diverse, critically ill patients including post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma level 1, general surgery, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, COPD, DKA, stroke, and sepsis casesShifts are 12-hour nights covering Monday through Sunday; no block scheduling is permittedFloat to SICU, MICU, and additional critical care units as neededEpic EMR experience within the past 2 years is requiredTravelers must cover 2 out of 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, or New Year's DayNo public transportation is available in the area; reliable transportation is strongly recommendedAll-season or snow tires are advised for vehicles from November through AprilBi-weekly orientation sessions are available, with the next starting on a MondayThorough documentation of work history, including facility type, bed count, and trauma level, is required for job considerationApplicants must explain any employment gaps over 90 daysRequirements
Active VT or compact RN license is requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU RN experiencePrior travel nursing experience requiredMust have experience in large, teaching hospital settingsCertification in AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required, with NIHSS to be completed prior to startExperience caring for post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients is requiredEpic charting experience within the past 2 years is mandatoryCCRN certification is preferredBenefits
