Join Caterpillar as a Senior Design Engineer and help shape the future of our Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL). You'll lead global validation efforts, streamline software configuration, and drive automation that boosts machine quality. From flashing ECMs to refining test procedures, your work will make MWLs smarter, stronger, and ready to perform for customers around the world.

What You Will Do :

  • Lead In Process Validation efforts across global Medium Wheel Loader programs, driving improvements through collaboration, troubleshooting, and lessons learned.
  • Partner with factories to validate components and machines at every stage of the manufacturing process, ensuring top-tier performance.
  • Own the structure and strategy for the Product Software Programming System, guiding how and when Electronic Control Modules are flashed and configured during assemblywhile eliminating manual data entry.
  • Manage global flashing success for new product introductions and offerings, making sure every Medium Wheel Loader rolls out with precision.
  • Take charge of test instructions and coordinate Elek groups to keep validation aligned and efficient.
  • Drive targeted In Process Validation projects that elevate machine quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Advance test cell automation and unify global data and procedures to streamline testing and boost consistency.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications) :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Demonstrated technical excellence in engineering, with a strong foundation in mechanical systems and manufacturing, heavy equipment or construction processes.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and engineering tools, with experience creating and refining complex models and assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience in product design, from concept through validation, with a focus on performance, quality, and customer value.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical ideas, collaborate across teams, and drive alignment.

  • Office Model : This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel : 10% domestic and international travel is expected.
  • Relocation : Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.
  • ISE : ISE assignments are not available.
  • Visa Sponsorship : Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Summary Pay Range : $110,520.00 - $165,840.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
