Sparteo Data Protection & Compliance Officer

As our Data Protection & Compliance Officer, you will be a key pillar in Sparteo's growth by ensuring our global operations are fully compliant with all data protection and regulatory standards. You will be the guardian of our legal integrity, a strategic partner to our product and tech teams, and the go-to expert for all things related to data privacy in the complex AdTech world. This role is about more than just compliance; it's about embedding a culture of ethical and responsible data handling at the core of our innovation.

Strategic Compliance & Advisory

  • Provide expert guidance : Advise leadership and teams on legal obligations and data protection laws, with a specific focus on the AdTech landscape.
  • Policy and procedure management : Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and procedures tailored to the specific challenges of programmatic advertising.
  • Project compliance : Be the privacy expert in all new projects, ensuring they are designed with data protection in mind ( Privacy by Design ).
  • Internal training : Educate and raise awareness among all employees about data privacy best practices and the stakes involved in our ecosystem.

Technical Integration & Product Collaboration

  • Product liaison : Act as the primary point of contact for our product and development teams.
  • Compliance validation : Ensure all new developments and features are built in full compliance with regulations like GDPR, ePrivacy , and others.
  • Audit and control : Conduct compliance audits of our advertising technologies ( cookies, pixels, SDKs ) and data flows to guarantee their conformity.
  • Documentation : Maintain and update the record of processing activities ( RoPA ) and the register of AdTech partners.

    • Global Risk Management

  • Extended compliance : Oversee compliance with a broader range of regulations, including anti-corruption laws like Sapin I&II in France.
  • Risk assessment : Develop risk maps and vigilance plans to anticipate and mitigate legal and regulatory exposures.
  • Vulnerability management : Implement and supervise internal alert systems and risk prevention measures.

    • External Relations & Regulatory Watch

  • Authority liaison : Serve as the official point of contact for data protection authorities ( CNIL, ICO, etc. ).
  • Incident management : Handle and report security incidents and data breaches, ensuring prompt and compliant resolution.
  • Legal watch : Stay on top of a dynamic regulatory environment and its implications for our industry, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.

  • You're autonomous and results-driven. You're a problem-solver who can handle the big picture and the small details, always looking for ways to improve our processes.
  • AdTech Savvy : You have a deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, its players (DSPs, SSPs, CMPs), and technical standards ( IAB TCF, ads.txt ).
  • Regulatory Expertise : You have a strong background in data protection law ( GDPR, ePrivacy ) and ideally a DPO certification.
  • Technical Acumen : You're comfortable with technical concepts and can "speak the language" of developers. You can analyze data flows and understand system architectures.
  • Education : A Master's degree in Law (Digital Law, Business Law) or a related field.
