Job Title : Azure Cloud Architect

Location : Richmond, VA Hybrid (Onsite required 2-3 days / week)

Job Description :

Advise agency on Azure architecture, security concerns, and migration strategies. Recommend solutions for lift-and-shift, refactoring, and cloud-native migrations. Conduct architecture testing in Azure to demonstrate minimal viable product designs. Configure Azure services to support agency-level objectives. Understand offerings from COV, MSI, and connected partners for effective architectural integration. Produce high-quality documentation including architecture papers, technical designs, and implementation guides. Ensure adherence to cloud security best practices including zero-trust, segmentation, conditional access, and JIT access. Sign Non-Disclosure Agreement (mandatory).

Required / Desired Skills :

• Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals (5 Years)
• Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications (5 Years)
• Knowledge and experience in designing cloud solutions meeting business requirements (5 Years)
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures (5 Years)
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.) (5 Years)
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App / App Service, Containers, micro-services, server-less (5 Years)
• Knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, JIT, conditional access (5 Years)
• Knowledge of availability options, architecting solutions meeting RPO and RTO in Azure (5 Years)
• Effective documentation writing, architecture documentation (5 Years)
• Managing cloud-based security posture activities, vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense, encryption in transit (5 Years)
• Experience in DevOps including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud (5 Years)
• Knowledge and experience with data storage products SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB (5 Years)
• On-premise architect experience (5+ years)
• Strong communication skills for technical and business staff (5 Years)
• Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (2 Years)
