This is a remote position.

Mainframes - Natural 4 / ADABAS Developer

Duration : 12+ Months

Location : Remote

Job description :

The client is undertaking multiple enterprise application which are highly complex and with aggressive timetables.

This consultant position will directly support City resources and responsibilities for this work.

The selected consultant will also be required to work closely with other vendors (e.g. other ITCS, systems integrator) procured by the City for this initiative as appropriate.

The minimum scope of services to be performed by the selected consultants will include : Developing integration programs between the legacy Buildings Information System (BIS), and new systems Skills Required :

  • Technical development skills in BIS' application language - Natural 4 / ADABAS
  • Ability to design / analyze complex batch processing
  • Technical development skills in JCL
  • Proficiency with TSO

Responsibilities :

  • Participate in planning, design, build and test activities
  • Build / unit test
  • Break / fix during testing
  • Deployment of the interfaces and support at go-live

    • MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a technical and / or business applications
  • Experience with large-scale highly technical legacy integration projects
  • Minimum of 8 years Natural 4 / ADABAS mainframe programming experience in both batch and real-time environments
  • Minimum of 8 years writing JCL code
  • Minimum of 8 years working in the TSO environment
  • Experience in a broker ENTIREX environment
  • Experience in data conversion and data normalization protocols
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access.

    • DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with the department’s DOB NOW system
  • Experience with client Buildings Information System (BIS) and its Java web portal BISWeb
  • Experience with Software AG's middleware products - WebMethods
  • Experience with use of Business Intelligence tools for reporting and analysis
  • Experience with large scale, complex technology-oriented projects
  • Experience with business process analysis, including requirements gathering and development of functional and technical specifications
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
