SUMMARY :
The Public Health Trainer / Instructional Designer will provide statewide training for Illinois Department of Human Services Programs including but not limited to; Bureau of Maternal / Child Health (BMCH) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This includes the development and delivery of both virtual and in-person instructional content. This full-time, in-person position supports operations in both Springfield and Chicago to ensure consistency, continuity, and fidelity of training across the network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain a working knowledge of policy and procedural guidelines for the Illinois Department of Human Services programs that govern the Community Health Training Center’s curricula.
- Provide clinical / programmatic and computer training.
- Develop and revise web-based modules using web authoring software.
- Travel between Chicago / Springfield to provide programming and computer training as required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to local agencies as needed.
- Perform other duties and attend meetings as required or assigned which are reasonable and within the scope of duties defined above.
CORE COMPETENCIES :
Proficient in developing and delivering training for both in-person and virtual formats using instructional design software.Strong knowledge of maternal and child health, WIC guidelines, and public health systems.Skilled in providing technical assistance and maintaining professional standards of training.Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and LMS systems for hosting and tracking training content.Ability to effectively communicate complex clinical and policy concepts in a clear, engaging manner.Capable of supporting continuity and sustainability of training efforts through cross-location coordination.QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree required in health, public health, nutrition, education, or a related field.Master’s degree preferred.Experience with BMCH and WIC programming strongly preferred.Background in clinical instruction, maternal / child health, or public health education desired.Above-average written and oral communication skills required.Proficiency with web authoring tools and virtual delivery platforms (e.g., Zoom, WebEx).Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.Ability to travel as needed to conduct training.SPRINGFIELD URBAN LEAGUE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
