Description :

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work in an acute care setting.

Daily patient load is approximately 10-12.

There are no on-call or floating requirements.

The position requires scrubs of any color, excluding camo.

The facility includes a 50-bed hospital with a daily census of approximately 360.

The team provides therapy services across seven floors.

The Patient population includes orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and post-operative cases.

You will be part of a team that sees 8-10 physical therapists and 6-8 physical therapy assistants per day.

You will work closely with occupational therapy and speech therapy teams, as well as case management.

Required skills include home exercise programs, lifting and transfer techniques, and patient / family education.

You will be responsible for patient transport to and from treatment.

You will focus on safety and injury prevention.

Assessment skills should include adaptive devices and range of motion assessments.

Other responsibilities may include pain assessment, vital signs monitoring, and skin integrity checks.

Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position.
