Schedule Details :

Nights

8 and 12-hour shifts

Every third weekend and holiday rotation

Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Student Loan Forgiveness : Up to $20,000

Unit Overview :

Join our dynamic 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, catering to a diverse patient population, including :

Post-operative patients from craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery patients

Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program

High volumes of cervical and spinal surgery patients and medical overflow cases

Experience cutting-edge neurosurgical techniques with the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII).

Major Responsibilities :

Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate care effectiveness

Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient status

Ensure patient safety through risk reduction strategies

Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary approach

Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Exemplify effective communication and collaboration within the healthcare team

Maintain knowledge of ethical decision-making and respect for all team members

Licensure and Certification Required :

Registered Nurse license in the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Education and Experience Required :

Completion of an accredited nursing program

Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Demonstrated ability to provide holistic patient care and respond to changes

Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical records

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to make independent critical decisions

Effective time management and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Ability to sit, stand, lift, squat, bend, and reach throughout the day

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 40 lbs.

May be exposed to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood and body fluids

Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
