JVC is a post-graduate volunteer program that places young adults to live and work in solidarity with marginalized populations across the United States, guided by seventy years of history and four core values : spirituality, simple living, community, and social justice.

Overview :

The Director of Recruitment is responsible for managing the national recruiting process of identifying, building, and cultivating relationships with prospective volunteers and recruiting partners. This requires developing relationships with key constituencies including leadership and staff on recruiting campuses, former Jesuit Volunteers and other stakeholder institutions to support a national recruitment strategy. Throughout this work, the Director promotes the Jesuit Volunteer core values – Ignatian Spirituality & Reflection, Simple Living, Intentional Community, and Social & Ecological Justice – in all engagement and programming.

Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Recruitment Planning : Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent volunteers aligned with the organization's mission and values.
  • Team Leadership : Lead and manage a team of three recruiters, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Candidate Sourcing : Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, partnerships with universities, and community agencies.
  • Marketing / Branding : Promote the organization through branding, events and outreach efforts.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with department heads and leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Metrics and Reporting : Track recruitment metrics and provide regular reports to leadership to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
  • Compliance : Ensure all recruitment practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements :

Education and Experience :

  • Education : A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience : Several years of relevant experience in national recruitment; staffing industry, corporate talent acquisition with expertise in university – college recruitment. Non-profit and / or faith-based work experience is a plus
  • Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in recruitment software and tools; and a deep understanding of nonprofit operations and values.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HubSpot (CRM) applications
  • Strong intercultural communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work in a diverse team and independently and to be accountable for achieving goals and outcomes including regular collection and analysis of recruiting data and reporting
  • Proactive and comfortable with initiating conversations and relationships with candidates and partners
  • Familiarity with and willingness to promote Catholic social justice tradition and Ignatian Spirituality
  • Demonstrated skill in prompt and professional verbal and written communication
  • Familiarity with utilizing technology for virtual teamwork
  • Flexible, ability to adjust to changing circumstances
  • Physical Requirements :

    To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to :

  • Exert minimal physical effort with intermittent movement going from one place to another.
  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting in meetings or at a desk working with a computer.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Repetitive Motions : Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers. Required to have close visual acuity to perform extensive work on the computer.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Much of work with colleagues is by phone, video conferencing or other electronic means
  • Availability for extensive national travel
  • Significant amount of office work; must have the physical ability to sit and / or stand for long periods of time and perform daily activities from a desk and must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Salary : 100,000 annually
