The ideal candidate will be a strategic visionary with a proven track record in executive leadership, particularly in the areas of mission-driven organizations, community engagement, and fundraising. The CEO will be responsible for deepening the organization's impact, evolving its culture, and scaling systems to meet the growing needs of the FTD community. This role demands a leader with a strong background in healthcare, rare disease, patient advocacy, or life sciences, who can navigate the scientific complexity of the field and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and policymakers. Key responsibilities for the CEO include serving as the primary spokesperson and ambassador, ensuring the organization has the resources to fulfill its mission, and providing strategic direction for sustainable impact. The successful candidate will be a compelling storyteller, a thought leader in rare disease advocacy, and a strategic relationship builder. They must also be adept at financial stewardship, performance management, and change management, with the ability to lead the organization through growth and evolution. The role requires a leader with exceptional communication skills, a collaborative and empowering leadership style, and a commitment to continuous learning. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors and the executive team to drive the organization's mission forward and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by frontotemporal degeneration.
