OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Salary Range : $51,500-$75,000 per year (12 month position)

Pay within this range is based on experience and education

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide students with sound clinical programs to meet their Occupational Therapy needs as outlined on their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
• Conduct clinical programs in individual and / or group sessions as per the IEP
• Provide on-going consultation, training, and support for classroom staff to carry over therapeutic programs
• Provide students with appropriate sensory motor programs
• Work cooperatively with team members in the evaluation and development of prescriptive feeding programs designed to improve oral motor abilities
• Attend various discipline related meetings and in-services (e.g. team meetings, department meetings, program meetings, staff development days)
• Work closely with parents to provide appropriate home programs
• Work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and implementing goals and recommendations for each student
• Design and / or obtain adaptive positioning systems necessary to provide proper alignment and facilitate independent movement patterns (e.g. wheel chairs, standers)
• Participate in the design and / or modification of adaptive equipment or devices (e.g. utensils, switches)
• Maintain written documentation in accordance with departmental and agency regulations
• Understand the psychological, social and medical characteristics of the population served
• Provide clinical instruction for future therapists
• Other duties as assigned
