What you can expect to work on
The CAD Design Supervisor leads a team of CAD designers and drafters to deliver safe highquality and efficient design outputs that meet internal standards regulatory requirements and customer needs. This role owns daytoday workload planning technical oversight people leadership and continuous improvement for the Design Group. The Supervisor partners closely with Engineering Manufacturing Quality and Program Management to ensure designs are manufacturable compliant and released on time.
- Owns the design intake prioritization and assignment process; balances resources against demand and adjusts as needed
- Approves design approaches methods and tolerancing strategies; escalates high risk changes with clear trade-offs
- Owns the Engineering Change process including cycle time documentation quality and stakeholder communication
- Tracks and reports on team KPIs : Identifies trends and countermeasures to improve team performance
- Leads and inspires a high performing diverse team of skilled professionals
- Within the department and across the organization fosters a culture of respect safety quality and continuous improvement aligning with the mission vision and values of the organization

Bachelor degree or advanced vocational training in relevant fields of studyHands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing 5S)5 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 5 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams establish career development tracks and succession planningOther things to know
Full-time position.The companys standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a 6p with production-related activities requiring 24 / 7 / 365 shifts.This position will have regular working hours during M F with an expectation of adjusting to working outside of the standard operating hours as neededto meet operational requirementsNiowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role.Please provide a cover letter specifically describing the nature of your interest and expertise.
