Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24 / 7 operations environment. Availability to work overtime non-scheduled call-in working a combination of day staff and shift schedules assigned based on the dynamic needs of the team. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training the candidate will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customers success.

This is an onsite position is in the Las Cruces NM area

This position is not relocation eligible.

What You Will Do :

Create and / or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems; apply command and control tasks and activities

Obtain / maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility toaccurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand

Obtain / apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems

Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts ofsystemanomalies

Contribute to the testing readiness training and implementation of new ground software deliveries

Crosstrain in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contractteam

Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions

Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported

Periodic travel required to interact personnel from various sites and factories

Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people)

Qualifications You Must Have :

Typically requires a Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior related engineering experience or an advanced degree in related field and 3 years of experience.

Ability to train and certify in an operational position

Qualifications We Prefer :

Experience working a rotating shift schedule

Experience Working in a virtual team environment

Experience and proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platforms

Experience with Perl Python VBA and / or other scripting languages

Experience using the Microsoft Office suite

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education / training and key skills.
