Project Engineer I / II - Site / Civil

Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to large and small Water, Sewer and Utility Districts; Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (I / II) - Site / Civil to help serve our connection of clients and community. The projected range of compensation in Illinois for this job is $70,000 - $80,000.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

• Assist in planning, designing, and executing civil / site projects for municipal, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software.
• Perform grading, drainage, utility, and earthwork calculations, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate field conditions and verify construction aligns with design intent.
• Support project management efforts by tracking schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to identify solutions to design or construction challenges.
