POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The School Age Program Coordinator assists the School Age Programs Director in maintaining positive, compliant, and supportive classroom environments to support and educate youth in the YMCA community. The School Age Program Coordinator promotes and encourages positive relationship building with youth, families, school administration, and staff to create nurturing spaces all around the association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Oversees staff onboarding and completion of licensing required training to maintain compliance and scheduling eligibility.
- Assists the Program Director in maintaining program quality by conducting childcare site visits to observe operations, evaluate program effectiveness and compliance, and ensure staff consistently uphold and deliver Y values and standards.
- Oversees behavioral support across all school age program sites by providing staff with documentation of behavior support strategies to meet individual camper needs, coordinating observation schedules, and scheduling parent meetings when necessary.
- Assists School Age Programs Director with parent communication about campers with higher need behaviors by writing Behavior Support Agreements and providing resources and support to the camps as needed.
- Assist in planning of programs and assisting in the licensing application process to establish new childcare sites.
- Assists in training, developing, and evaluating of on-site staff, supporting their growth, and providing feedback on their service
- Monitors DEL licensing standards at childcare sites, including staff and child files, postings, child supervision and safety, and staff compliance to ensure a safe and enriching learning environment.

- Establish positive and professional relationships with parents and school administration and staff, in addition to completing CACFP monitor visits during the school year
- Responsible for completing 10 hours of STARS trainings per year.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s Degree or 30-45 credits in related fieldOne to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing behavioral support plans in a childcare or educational settingMinimum age of 21Eligible for or holds certifications for : Child Abuse Prevention, CPR / AED, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne PathogensTB Test, Registered in DEL MERIT, Portable Background Clearance, Fingerprints upon request; 30-hour STARS Basic Training or Education ExemptionAbility to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the communityHolds valid driers license and means of transportation to travel to various sitesCompletion of YMCA required trainings upon hireAbility to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgroundsWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
