GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
This is a clinical position within a housing shelter and substance use recovery housing that has co-located services to support individuals with substance use disorders. The Clinician will provide direct Behavioral Health services to program, complete required clinical documentation, and casework. Services include biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy and other wellness activities. The Clinician will provide education to residents about recovery and other disorders that will guide and offer support in the development of adaptative skills and behaviors necessary to recover from their substance use. The Clinician will complete administrative documentation as required.
REQUIREMENTS :
Master's degree in psychology or social work. LCSW, LSW, LPC preferred.
3 years experience working with adults. Experience working with individuals with both mental health and substance use challenges
ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS :
1. Provides direct service in intake, completes Biopsychosocial data, including that relates to clients' mental and physical health, substance use / addiction behaviors and assesses their readiness for treatment.
2. Completes assessments, 302 crisis support, group / individual, and family therapy.
3. Collaborates with staff, psychiatrists, and residents in developing and coordinating treatment plans in accordance with participant interests and desires.
4. Interacts effectively with each resident. Works with residents and, when appropriate, their support systems to produce behavioral, cognitive, and / or emotional changes that meet treatment goals.
5. Completes individual treatment / recovery plans every 90 -days and other clinical documentation to maintain clinical records in compliance with regulatory and Agency requirements including crisis and discharge plans.
6. Completes administrative documentation as required by Agency guidelines including daily documentation and case notes.
7. Completes request for information, informational summaries and other correspondence as required.
8. Assess other functional, behaviors and life-skill needs that may impede recovery and make referral to appropriate supports. These may include job placement services, educational services, intensive case management and support groups.
9. Provide on-going program evaluation and recommendations to the Clinical Director for continuous growth and quality.
10. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly program reports to the Director.
11. Participates in staff meetings, in-service training, staff development and clinical case conferences as required.
12. Community visitation supports such as hospitals, crisis centers etc. Supports community outings and events to assist residents with their recovery goals.
13. When applicable, recommends and makes appropriate referrals to other programs within and outside the Agency; completes all program documentation forms including incident reports.
14. Travels on a minimal basis to assist clients with their recovery goals.
15. Attends all scheduled supervision sessions with immediate supervisor or designee.
