About the Role
Stonefield Engineering and Design is currently recruiting a Traffic Analyst / Team Lead to join the Transportation / Traffic Engineering Team.
This is a dynamic position that will offer the opportunity for diverse interaction and rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist with field inventory for traffic analysis and design, traffic data collection programs, traffic analysis and studies, technical reports, traffic modeling and simulation, traffic demand forecast and models, transportation management plan and traffic engineering design including traffic signal layout and timing, intersection design, pavement markings and striping, signing and traffic control plans and the preparation of quantity calculations and construction cost estimates
- Work closely with senior traffic engineers and project managers to complete design and / or analysis of roadways, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities and other transportation infrastructure
- Instruct, guide and mentor junior engineers in the development of engineering design, reports and analyses
- Assist with the preparation of design plans, traffic analysis, design calculations and technical reports for transportation infrastructure projects for a variety of local, regional, state, and national clients
- Potential to provide expert testimony upon licensure and training / guidance from senior leadership
- Ability to interact with coworkers at local and regional level and clients at different levels.

Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlinesThis position will work statewide in New Jersey, coordinating with transportation staff across all of New Jersey, supporting projects and proposals for regional and local clients and will ensure QA / QC practices for traffic work in the regionPrepare plans and studies required to obtain NJDOT access permits for a variety of private development projectsReview and verify the accuracy of traffic reports and associated data, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet the firm's standards and client expectationsQualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years of traffic and analysis and / or design experience.3-10 years of experience, role would be based on experience and aptitudeStrong communication and organizational skillsSelf-motivationExperience with Synchro / SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Manual / Software is required, AutoCAD or MicroStation, zoning and site plan permitting process preferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey and / or New York preferred. If the candidate does not yet have a PE license, a timeline to obtaining a PE license is requiredPTOE preferredStrong understanding of traffic engineering principles, transportation planning, and relevant regulations and standardsKnowledge of NJDOT Access Management Code and experience preparing access permit applications preferredKnowledge of NJDOT traffic signal design standards and experience in the design of traffic signal systems preferredHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of report preparation and data analysisCompensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and education, with eligibility for annual bonus opportunitiesBenefits at Stonefield

Compensation
$90k-180k (Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and education, with eligibility for annual bonus opportunities.)
