Job Posting

The incumbent will have technical and professional responsibility to interpret, plan, schedule, conduct, and supervise all phases of various Public Works projects and functions as assigned. This will include directing, advising, and oversight of project team members on design and construction activities for Borough owned facilities.

Salary : Level IV

Positions Supervised : Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants & others who assist in specific project assignments

Typical duties include serving as an architect or engineer on Public Works projects, developing project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates, providing direction and guidance to project team members, maintaining overall direct responsibility during all phases of assigned team members' projects, negotiating and managing professional services contracts, preparing project budgets, and coordinating activities with local utility companies, local governments, state and federal agencies.

Minimum qualifications include a professional degree in architecture or engineering, six years of experience in planning, design, development, and construction of projects, demonstrated experience in effective supervision and mentoring, and proficiency in project management and construction delivery methods.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include considerable knowledge of construction, project management, and contract administration, ability to perform mathematical computations, capability to function with minimal direction, ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Other requirements include performing other duties as assigned, undergoing a criminal background check, and maintaining a valid driver's license.

Job contacts include the general public, all levels of Borough staff, Borough Platting Board members, and other governmental agencies. Job responsibility includes seeing basic functions and typical duties. Work environment includes general office conditions and frequent coordination and inspection visits to job sites with exposure to common construction site hazards.
