Adjunct Instructor - Art & Design

Job Summary :

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in the Art and Design program. Teaching assignments will be in the foundation area of art and design. Courses may include 2D and 3D design, color, digital foundations, drawing, painting, and other design related curriculum.Depending upon the program’s needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments may be on LCC’s downtown campus, at an extension center (within 40 miles of the downtown campus), and / or via online delivery methods.Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class.Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department / program meetings, professional development activities and other duties as assigned.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and / or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications :

Master’s Degree in Art (from a regionally accredited college or university) or in a related sub-field or MFA.

Teaching experience (can be at the T.A. level).

Preferred Qualifications :

Master’s Degree in Studio Art or Design field (from a regionally accredited college or university), or MFA.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, as well as knowledge of AI.
