Job Description :

The ZUND Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining ZUND cutting machines, which are used for precision cutting of materials for production teams. This job sets up machine parameters, load materials, and ensures accurate cuts according to design specifications. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring quality control. This role requires strong attention to detail and knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator or CAD programs is helpful

Key Responsibilities :

Daily tasks generally include preparing and loading materials, setting up digital files for cutting, and operating the ZUND digital cutter.
Monitoring the quality of finished products and performing routine maintenance on the equipment.
Collaborates closely with designers, production staff, and quality control teams to ensure that projects meet exact specifications and deadlines.
Troubleshoots minor technical issues and uses quality control as part of daily tasks.
Keeps detailed records of production runs.
Requires a mix of independent work and teamwork within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Interprets technical drawings, monitor machine performance, and ensure safety standards.
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Skills and Abilities for Success in this Position :

Strong mechanical aptitude, precision in material handling, and familiarity with digital cutting processes.

Proficiency with ZUND cutting machines, CAD software, RIP programs, and sometimes certifications in digital cutting technology.

Skills in using hand tools such as screw guns, drills, and other relevant tools used for assigned tasks.

Ability to identify different patterns accurately.

Basic installation skills to perform required tasks.

Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization.

Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.

Requirements :

Knowledge, Education, and Experience Required / or Preferred :

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Knowledge of production processes and quality control to ensure adherence to standards.

Proficiency in reading orders and identifying the necessary parts to maintain the production schedule.

Marine manufacturing background preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.

Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds when necessary.
