Field Service Technician

We are Mid-Atlantic’s largest industrial pump and process equipment solutions provider. Having locations in Baltimore Maryland and Aston and York Pennsylvania. As a result of our growth, we have a need for a Field Service Technician.

What You Get To Do

  • Perform Precision overhauls of Pumps, Valves, Agitators, and other rotating equipment at Geiger Engineering shop and customer sites.
  • Install fluid process equipment at industrial and municipal customer sites.
  • Install mechanical seals, couplings, V-belts, bearing seals, relief valves and other accessories both in house and at customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot fluid process equipment problems and prepare recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Assist customers during new equipment start-ups.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding service work, repair parts and pump operation.
  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on service equipment and tools.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What We Need From You

  • Associate degree in a related field, three to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with maintenance and service of fluid process systems (pumps and valves) or Mechanical Contracting experience.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays and participate in after-hours on call emergency service program.
  • Positive, forward-thinking with high ethical standards.
  • Ability to handle a varied and fast-paced workload to meet customer needs.
  • Well-organized and self-directed team players.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
