Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join a dynamic construction team on the major Eli Lilly project in Lebanon, IN. This role involves a contract-to-hire opportunity, with an initial contract period of 6 months and potential for extension. The position requires full-time commitment, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours per day, accumulating to 40–50+ hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections of structural steel welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 and project specifications.
• Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material compliance.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Monitor joint preparation, fit-up, and welding techniques.
• Perform or coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) as needed.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports.
• Communicate discrepancies and corrective actions to project stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and site-specific requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr.
