Westmont Hospitality Group is seeking an exceptionally strong, knowledgeable, and energetic General Manager to lead our outstanding team at the 136-room ARC Hotel DC, which will soon be converting to a major branded hotel. Position Overview
The General Manager will be fully responsible for all daily hotel operations and will report directly to the Area General Manager. This role ensures delivery of exceptional service, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who inspires teams, cultivates guest satisfaction, and maintains a sharp focus on profitability and quality standards.
Essential Functions
Effectively managing and overseeing all aspects of the hotel operations including front desk, sales, housekeeping, human resources, retail, maintenance, product quality, accounting, team building and staff development.
Overall responsibility for the financial success of the property, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
Focus would be maintaining established cost and quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.
Leadership and management of all departments. Direct supervision of management team and hourly associates, including hiring, training, developing, and performance management.
Responsible for the development and execution of business plans, including sales & marketing plans. Manage all sources of revenue.
Develop, prepare, execute and achieve financial goals.
Determine the Hotel’s pricing strategy as it relates to room inventory and anticipated market segment mix to exceed market‑share occupancy at better‑than‑market yield ratio.
Participate in sales activities, including sales calls, greeting clients, site inspections / tours. Maintain fair market share.
Build and maintain rapport with associates and clients. Ensure 100% Guest satisfaction and strong employee engagement.
Represent the hotel in appropriate hotel, tourism and business associations.
Participate in community affairs and maintain positive public image for the hotel
Implement, maintain and promote all Westmont policies & procedures.
Ensure that all appropriate systems and controls are in place to produce accurate monthly financial reports and knows at all times where the hotel stands against budget.
Oversee day‑to‑day operations. Physically inspect the property on a daily basis, monitoring cost controls, property condition, cleanliness of product and service throughout the hotel. Control purchases and inventories.
Recruit, supervise and evaluate direct reports.
Protect the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program, resulting in employee and guest safety, orderly operations, good appearance, compliance with brand and legislative standards.
Any other tasks pertaining to this position as required or assigned.
Job Requirements
5 years hotel management experience or equivalent; working knowledge of Hotel Property Management Systems strongly preferred.
Prior Marriott management experience highly preferred
Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer relation skills.
Must be analytical and have excellent mathematics skills.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
