Job Title : Medical Assistant

Job Description

The Clinical Research Medical Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of participants through the Clinical Translational and Science Unit. This role involves assisting with document management, conducting clinical assessments of research participants, performing laboratory functions, and supporting various tasks related to the operations of the research clinic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct height and weight measurements, ECG, and vitals.
• Process blood using a centrifuge.
• Assist with document management and protocol-related clinical assessments of research participants.
• Support laboratory functions and the operations of the research clinic.
• Provide training and mentorship for team members and study teams.
• Perform unit administrative support tasks such as inventory, ordering, billing, and scheduling.
• Assist Principal Investigators, physicians, and nurses with special procedures and examinations.
• Provide and document professional medical assistant care in accordance with study protocols and regulations.
• Ensure data collected is recorded accurately on the appropriate forms.
• Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock assigned areas.
• Perform required checks on logs and equipment like refrigerator and eyewash logs.
• Carry out phlebotomy and sample collection, lab processing, handling, and shipping.
• Obtain all required consent forms before any research activities.
• Foster a cooperative work environment.
• Engage with customers professionally, ensuring satisfaction with services provided.

Work Environment

The role is part-time, with working hours from 8 AM to noon, five days a week, totaling 20 hours. The position is based at the Fairway campus, with some floating to the Rainbow campus. The busiest hours are in the mornings. Parking requires a slight fee, or free street parking is available.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fairway, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.78 - $25.00 / hr.
