Job Title : Nurse Practitioner

Status : Non-Exempt, Part-Time

Job Summary :

The nurse practitioner will be responsible for providing regularly scheduled adult primary and preventive patient care, urgent care services and comprehensive education for patients with diabetes.

Job Duties :

• For regularly scheduled patients, performs complete history and physical exams, orders diagnostic tests, and prescribes appropriate treatment, consulting with the Medical Director as needed.
• Provides coverage on the phone or in person for health center patients that require urgent care, including, initial assessment, treatment, and triage.
• Respond to phone calls from established health center patients seeking advice or medication refills.
• Serve as backup in case of absence of the Nurse Manager; including oversight of patient flow and direct nurses during the clinical sessions.
• Assist in the tracking of patient care follow up.
• Work with the medical staff to implement quality assurance protocols.
• Assist in the development of programs to enhance patient care.
• Perform chart review of Nurse Practitioners.
• Become proficient with BVMIs EMR system, and act as a resource to other practitioners, as needed.
• Perform subject to BVMI Quality Assurance protocols.
