GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION :
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction
and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality instruction and hands-on training in Industrial Technology with an emphasis on electrical systems ensuring students develop the technical skills safety awareness and problem-solving abilities needed for success in modern
industrial and manufacturing environments.
The instructor will design and deliver an engaging curriculum aligned with industry standards
including electrical theory motor controls programmable logic controllers (PLCs) industrial wiring troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. This role supports Ivy Techs mission of preparing a skilled workforce through applied learning industry partnerships and academic
excellence.
The scope of responsibility includes classroom and laboratory instruction curriculum development assessment of student learning outcomes equipment and lab maintenance and collaboration with industry and academic partners. The instructor will also contribute to student recruitment retention and advising efforts ensuring alignment with the needs of local employers and the Colleges Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Applied Science division goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policyand course objectives.
Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Develops / maintains course outlines syllabi lesson plans assignments tests andmaterials. Maintains accurate student records grades and other requirements.
Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning andleads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College shows evidence of developingand implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with theirlearning (curricular).
Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner complieswith College policies campus guidelines and expectations.
Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classroomslabs and all learning environments.

Compensation : $47.35 / contract hour
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Must have strong workingknowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet facultycredentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts allactivities with an appreciation respect and promotion of diversity of people styles and views.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A qualified adjunct faculty member including Dual Credit Workforce Alignment and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline meets the technical course standard through one offour routes :

Possesses a Department of Labor Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized journeymans
card in the discipline directly related to credentials certifications and competencies listed in theCurriculum of Record (COR) and in journeyman status for two years or more with experience

Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License Technology Education License (Technologyand Engineering Education Engineering and Technology Education) or CTE : Trade &Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Educationappropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials certifications andcompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
