What You’ll Do
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will Reports to Therapy Department Leadership. Performs occupational therapy treatments to restore function, prevent disability and maximize potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery based on plan of care established by an Occupational Therapist. Participates in departmental programs and activities and serves as a role model of quality clinical practice. Serves as a resource to staff, rehabilitation teams, and Interns.
Rehab - OT Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Job Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team to effectively manage patient care.
Utilizes appropriate equipment and treatment techniques to maximize patient outcomes.
Applies continuing education and in-service knowledge to daily clinical practice.
Instructs patients and families in occupational activities; provides educational materials and documents accordingly in the medical record.
Delivers individualized care based on treatment plans to optimize functional outcomes.
Communicates with patients and families in a professional manner, adjusting to their level of understanding and needs.
Completes documentation within department time frame standards (e.g., notes, discharge summaries).
Accurately documents data from patient assessments for regulatory compliance and outcome tracking.
Ensures documentation supports all billing charges and meets payer requirements for authorizations and continued treatment.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license for the state of Indiana required
Knowledge, skills, and abilities developed through formal education and clinical training
