job_description.job_card.job_descriptionA Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse with experience as a beside registered nurse in a level III NICU, who is prepared to practice across the continuum, providing primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2. Well Newborn Care Premature infant with RDS Infant with Hyperbilirubinemia SGA Infant Infant of a diabetic mother Infant with sepsis Infant with suspected cardiac problem Infant requiring surgery HIE Total body cooling Infant with meconium aspiration VLBW Bronchopulmonary dysplasia Persistent pulmonary hypertension / Respiratory failure Cardiopulmonary resuscitation / NRP Intubation Fluid and electrolyte management of high risk infant Emergency Medications Blood products and blood transfusion Management of the infant receiving ventilator support Umbilical and venous artery catheterization Lumbar puncture, suprapubic tap, and septic workup Performance of screening diagnostic tests, therapeutic interventions, and emergency procedures Surveillance of the growing newborn and high risk infant Coordinating discharge and follow-up care for the high risk infant Chest tube insertion Placement of percutaneous central venous catheter Placement of peripheral arterial line Ability to work well independently and under pressure. Strong communication / interpretive and analytical skills. A high level of independent judgment and ability to handle empowerment for independent action. Ability to pass the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and / or Illinois Health Care Worker's Background Check. - Work locations are Javon Bea Hospita- Riverside Rockford, IL Level III NICU and Mercyhealth Trauma Center in L&D providing in house Peds / NB Nursery rounds; and Mercyhealth Trauma Center -Janesville, WI
