Position Summary

As a Speech Language Pathologist , you’ll play a vital role in helping residents improve their communication, cognitive abilities, and swallowing functions. You'll work in a warm, team-oriented environment where your expertise makes a meaningful difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

Assess & Treat : Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.

Communication Aids : Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.

Collaborative Care : Partner with the interdisciplinary team to tailor therapy plans that align with each resident’s unique needs.

Monitor Progress : Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.

Mentor & Lead : Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.

Equipment Oversight : Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy tools and identify equipment needs or repairs.

Family Support : Offer compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their loved ones.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.

Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Florida .

Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA (or in the process).

Minimum 2 years of experience preferred, especially in a skilled nursing or rehab setting.
