Job Summary

CA-DK

This position supports basic and clinical research and investigators in the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Center (ADRC) as well as external investigators utilizing our data. The incumbent will act as a data analyst on a variety of projects led by investigators. The incumbent will participate in projects to include data cleaning, data analysis, dataset construction, and developing summary reports under the supervision of more senior biostatisticians

Minimum Qualifications

  • CITI Certification for Biomedical Researchers and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) within 3 months of hire
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or related field and / or equivalent experience / training
  • No minimum work experience required
  • Acquiring knowledge of research function.
  • Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
  • Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.
  • Working knowledge of R or SAS for dataset creation, routine statistical analyses and figure creation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic consultation skills.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or R for statistical coding and visualization of data

    • Department Overview

    The Department of Neurology conducts basic and clinical research on the nervous system and provides clinical care for people with neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia, epilepsy, movement disorders like Parkinson's and Huntington's Disease, tremor, dystonia, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular conditions, headache, and sleep disorders.

    Our faculty include leading neuroscientists, who work to expand our knowledge of nervous system function, as well as neurologists and psychologists who provide diagnosis and treatment for adults and children. We partner with colleagues from throughout the health system and work closely with the Department of Neurological Surgery to provide multidisciplinary team management for neurological disorders. We also offer cutting-edge diagnostic approaches, including advanced neuroimaging technologies and access to trials of new medications and other therapeutic modalities.
