What You Will Do to Change Lives

Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Support Specialists provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health / addiction challenge.

Shifts Available :

Full-Time| DAYS | : AM - : PM | Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage is $ Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED

Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment

oCalifornia : obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to date of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care

Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.

Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc. (weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate)

Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc. (weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate)

This program is a full service partnership between LA county and Telecare. The program structure mimics our current FSP programs in LA county, in that we are serving high acuity members who struggle with severe to moderate mental health symptoms. This FSP will specialize JIMH -justice involved mental health members. There are FSP slots and of those slots are dedicated to ODR - Office of Diversion and re-entry. of the slots are dedicated to AOT / Care Court members, and last slots will be a pilot for individual members being discharged from La Casa MHRC, bypassing Step Down and being accepted directly into FSP. The LA regions to be covered include, service Area , , , and .
