Verdox is dedicated to reversing climate change through the development and deployment of advanced technology. Our proprietary electro-swing process, developed at MIT, enables carbon dioxide and other acid gasses to be captured with up to 80% less energy and 70% less cost than conventional approaches. We are backed by institutional investors and based in Boston.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and highly skilled team. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Lead Process Engineer will lead efforts to develop and commercialize manufacturing processes for our groundbreaking products, and serve as a key contributor to the growth of Verdox.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop robust roll to roll processes for Verdox proprietary products, including formulation, coating and converting
- Translate prototype designs into scalable solutions achieving performance & cost targets
- Lead formulation production and coating trials at external partners supporting scale up and production of coated electrodes
- Establish in-house capabilities for prototyping and small-scale production
- Establish product and component requirements, ensure quality of incoming materials
- Contribute to strategy development for scale up of production, including capital equipment, supplier selection, make / buy analyses, etc
- Lead process development project teams
- Collaborate with Technology Development and other internal and external stakeholders
- Work with Supply Chain to identify and develop new suppliers
- Create Verdox SOPs related to processes and establish robust best practices
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Educational background
BS in Chemical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, MS preferredWork Experience
At least 7 years of hands-on experience developing roll to roll processes in coating and converting requiredExperience working in an ISO regulated environment strongly preferredJob Skills, Experience, and Abilities
High level of hands-on experience developing roll to roll processes required, preferably within a structured phase-gate processExperience with formulation, coating, laminating, cutting and conversion processesMultiple successful projects bringing new products to market at large production scaleDemonstrated project management experience working with interdisciplinary teamsExperience specifying and implementing capital equipment projectsAbility to lead and mentor othersAbility to thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative & rapidly evolving startup environmentAbility to brainstorm and communicate complex technical designs to diverse audiencesWillingness to contribute in areas outside of core competencies to meet company needsExperience with battery products or systems a plusPhysical requirements / Work environment
