Job Overview :

The Telemetry Technician oversees and interprets the cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and changes in heart rhythm.

The Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed, team-oriented unit that provides a wide variety of Medical / Surgical and diagnostic services to a diverse cardiac population i.e. congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory compromise and dysrhythmias.

Qualifications : Required :

HS Diploma or GED

Completion of a cardiovascular technology course or successful completion of a telemetry / monitor technician course

Must have the ability to examine heartbeat patterns, noting heartbeat irregularities in real time and ensuring the heart monitors are functioning correctly

Preferred :

• At least one year of telemetry / monitoring work experience
