Project Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refrigerant Technician to join our mechanical contracting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe handling, installation, recovery, charging, and maintenance of refrigerants in HVAC / R systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The technician will ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC / R systems, including refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Safely recover, evacuate, charge, and test refrigerants in accordance with EPA Section 608 guidelines.
• Detect leaks and troubleshoot refrigerant-related issues using appropriate tools and methods.
• Maintain accurate service records and refrigerant logs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, estimators, and other field staff to complete tasks on schedule.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and mechanical codes.
• Provide technical guidance to apprentices or junior technicians, as needed.
