CALIBRATION SERVICE MANAGER

Grand Rapids MI

Salary $80000

Join a West Michigan Best and Brightest Company as a Calibration Service Manager that will be responsible for overseeing the growth operations financial performance and team management of the Lab Department. This individual will find success by a strong focus on quality a customer-centric approach and effective leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee daily calibration operations ensuring accuracy safety and full compliance with ISO 17025 standards
  • Partner with customers and sales team to provide tailored calibration solutions; act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) through site visits technical support and service coordination
  • Lead and develop staff through performance management timecard approvals employee relations and career development initiatives
  • Direct training programs for new hires and ongoing technical development for all Calibration Technicians
  • Manage financial operations including lab budget P&L equipment investments and contributions to long-term growth strategies
  • Support audits and enforce safety protocols to maintain a compliant secure laboratory environment
  • Identify recommend and implement workflow and process enhancements to improve efficiency reduce costs and increase throughput
  • Foster a collaborative high-performance work environment aligned with the organizations core values
  • Grow the laboratorys capabilities and partner with quality to continue to expand the organizations A2LA ISO 17025 Scope of Accreditation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Science Biology Chemistry or a closely related discipline ( preferred )
  • Two - five years of managerial experience in a laboratory or relevant service industry
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 17025 calibration standards quality management systems and measurement instrumentation strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated business acumen including budgeting financial planning and strategic decision-making
  • S trong presentation and communication skills including written and verbal
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete an MVR in order to travel to local customer sites occasionally
