Mainframe Developer

We have an exciting Mainframe Developer opportunity in Austin. This is a long term (12+ months) contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of Insurance projects, managing one or more projects concurrently to ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities include :

• Completing evaluations of existing and future capabilities, conducting research into solution alternatives, enhancing system capabilities, and providing advice to stakeholders.
• Participating in joint application design sessions with customers and IT staff to define business requirements and develop software systems requirements.
• Communicating effectively with users to determine requirements for new processes and applications or modifications to existing ones.
• Being actively involved in implementations and upgrades in a low-code platform.
• Performing system configuration, documenting business processes, and preparing project documentation with a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and technical aptitude.
• Using standardized project management processes, tools, and techniques to address project needs.
• Developing test artifacts, conducting testing (including User Acceptance Testing - UAT), and developing training documentation for various team projects.
• Working closely with developers to track defects and resolutions.
• Performing deep technical and analytical reviews to analyze system functionality with customers and resolve production issues.
• Assisting with creating, maintaining, and enforcing global standards.
• Performing other analysis and documentation tasks as required to facilitate and support team projects.
• Assisting in diagnosing problems associated with applications and writing detailed specifications for developing or correcting issues to improve system performance and / or accuracy.
• Performing other duties as assigned to maintain operations.
